YOU CAN FISH...JUST USE TALÅYA POT FABOT

According to the PDN yesterday, the Department of Agriculture is allowing the fishing of reef fish that normally move from deep waters to shallow ones in the summer...as long as you catch them with traditional Chamorro  talåya (throw net) or hook-and-line.

The talåya was introduced in Spanish times and the original Spanish word is atarraya, and in Mexico and other Latin American countries, tarraya.  The larger kind of net, the chinchulu, is taken from the Spanish word chinchorro.
