The tune is from composer George Frideric Handel (died 1759) and is used in more than one Chamorro hymn, but this is a Christmas one sung in Saipan.
Kantåye si Yu'us, kantåye i Niño
(Sing to God, sing to the Child Jesus)
mafañågo på'go gi korason-ta.
(born today in our hearts.)
O na sumen popble gi sagan gå'ga';
(Oh what poverty in an animal shelter)
lalaolao sa' fugo gi liyang Belen.
(He shivers because He is cold in Bethlehem cave.)
Additional verses not in the video :
Silensio na puenge, ma'lak na puti'on
(Silent night, bright star)
mafañågo på'go i Nana'libre.
(our Savior is born today.)
Ta ofrese todo i guinaha-ta
(Let us offer all we have)
ta gågao minesngon yan lokkue' i pås.
(let us ask for endurance and also peace.)
Here's the original piece by Handel :
